Routine Dental Examinations
Routine examinations in the past were carried out every 6 months. We now recommend carrying these out at intervals according to the risk of dental disease for each individual patient. This can mean that you may need to be seen more or less frequently than 6 months. Patients with very low risk may be seen every 1 to 2 years while those with higher risk every 3 to 6 months with additional intervention from the Dental Therapist. Your risk will be identified at your initial consultation. Routine examinations are important to attend to ensure that treatments have been successful and to identify and try and prevent future problems .
